Canada and Ontario Announce US$6.4 Billion-Equivalent Industrial Support Package

On 21 October, the federal and Ontario governments announced a C$8.7 billion (approximately US$6.4 billion) package to strengthen steel, automotive and critical-mineral supply chains affected by tariffs. The plan includes more than C$5 billion for steel-sector support, C$2.5 billion for automakers and C$1 billion for road infrastructure serving Ontario’s Ring of Fire region; public agencies and programme partners can explore project dashboards and funding analytics, with HPC quotations based on confirmed requirements.
